I'm debating about taking AP Chem next year (Junior year). It's supposedly one of the hardest AP classes at my school. My major will be business related, and I'm not that interested in science.

Without it I would be taking 3 APs, and I would have a little more time to focus on extracurriculars.

The reason that I would take it is to escape some college science classes. (Actually, I'm not sure if most colleges require science credits.) Plus, I took AP Bio last year, so it might look bad to drop down to honors this year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys :]

Look up the AP Credit. I took it because I wanted to get done with the science req for most colleges, and the fact that I did pretty well in Chem (regular).

How well did you do in your Chem class? AP Chem is basically an extension of regular Chem, with just more concepts, formulas and memorization. If you didn't like your Chem class, you're going to hate AP even more.

Still, some people who can grasp the concepts fairly quickly and are good at memorizing claim that AP Chem is ridiculously easy.

I think it would rank in the medium-hard category: harder than Bio, but easier than Physics. There's always class factors, like the amount of homework and th easiness of tests. Our AP Chem teacher always gave big curves, because there was a significant percentage of students getting bottom scores (<60).

It's always your choice. What alternative science class were you thinking about?

the ap exam is easy, but if you didnt do that well in chem or didnt like it that much, you shouldnt take ap becuase the whole year will suck for you.
