Should I take AP Envi Sci

This year I am supposed to take AP Chem II but it has already been stressful and it is only going to hurt my GPA. There are only 2 other AP sciences that I can switch it out with: physics and envi sci. I think considering I might want to go into environmental engineering, I should take this class, but I heard that it does not look as good on transcripts? Should I drop AP Chem II if I have already taken AP Chem I and switch with APES???

AP Chem II? I think that the College Board only has one Chem class. Have you already taken the AP Chem exam?

What is AP Chem 2? Does your school takes two years to teach the AP chem curriculum or is year one the equivalent of Honors chem?

Colleges want to see bio, chem, physics, and then an AP in one of them. I would not drop a core AP for env sci.

Im pretty sure the OP is talking about his second year of chemistry and he’ll take the ap chem test after he finishes AP Chem 1 and AP Chem 2

AP Chemistry was the best class I’ve ever taken, the labs were so fun the the material was always interesting. If I could take one class again it would be AP chem just due to how compelling it was. Don’t imagine it as being stressful, immerse yourself in the ideas and try to understand how all the ideas connect to eachother and how the math supports that. Then chemistry will be so fun that you don’t have to worry about dropping. Its super good for your transcript too

APES isn’t a strong AP because there are just far harder and more compelling classes than it for example: AP Chem, BC calc, AP Bio, AP Lit, and AP Physics C. Just study hard and you will prevail in AP Chem. For me it was a ton of work but it was worth it because I learned so much

If you want to go into engineering, then it is best to take some kind of physics course in high school.

Seconding your taking AP physics (1 if you haven’t finished calculus AB, C if you have)
