I am a sophomore in high school and I want to become a hhistory major in college. AP European is available at my school for sophomores, should I take it? People have said that it is hard, is that true? My gpa is a 4.18 and I know an AP course will help it especially with getting into colleges.
If you find it interesting, sure.
No harder than any other AP history, although the workload depends on the teacher. There will be a lot of reading and writing. And if your past history exams were regurgitating dates and names, you’ll be in for a surprise.
That said, IMO, the hardest history AP is the one that is taken first. While the material is different between USH, Euro, and World, the test strategies are similar. If one survives the first class, the next is a relative breeze.
