i am not absolutely terrible at it, i do take honors english classes, but i’m not good at it either. at my school we have to write in classs essays (5 paragraphs in one hour with evidence) do you think taking this ap class would be a good idea?
AP European history is a LOT of reading and a LOT of work. When older daughter took it I called it “the hardest A- I have ever seen in my life”. I think that she would have been happier if she had skipped it, and she probably still would have gotten into the same university with the same merit scholarship.
AP European History entails a TON of writing. At least that’s how it’s taught at my school. If you don’t feel all that comfortable with writing, I don’t know if I would take it. The exam involves two essays…one DBQ (this essay usually involves some form of historical argumentation) and one long essay about a specific era. However, if you have a prodigious interest in it, I would encourage you to take the challenge (though I would warn you that there will probably be several in class essays).
On the other hand, you don’t get better at something if you avoid doing it. You will need to write a lot in college. Maybe it’s time to work on improving.
yes yes that’s exactly what i was thinking!
