Hey guys, I am going to be a Junior next year, and I wanted to know your thoughts on taking AP Lang Comp in junior year and then AP Lit in senior year, or continue on my English Honors track, and then take Lang in Senior year.
The APs I am confirmed to take next year are Calc AB, World History, and Physics 1. I will also self study Psych, environmental, and Stats. When I go to college, I want to double major in Computer science(coding) and Business administration.
And when I talked to my guidance counselor about this, he said just take the honors class, because colleges won’t care about taking Lit senior year (which is what I would do if I take Lang in junior year). Also, people said that the honors class is a piece of cake, whereas Lang has a really strict teacher who gives lots of essays.
So what do you guys think? Honors or Lang?
Do you like English? If you do, take AP lang junior year, if not, don’t.
I would say that AP English Language is one of the most important AP’s, because reading and writing efficiently will hep you in every class you take.

Colleges don’t care that you “self study”. They want you in class, participating, interacting, taking tests. Also, it’s not about piling up random AP’s. Use the freed time to succeed in AP English.<i will="" also="" self="" study="" psych,="" environmental,="" and="" stats.="">
^ I agree with @MYOS1634 completely. AP Lang at my school was I think the most beneficial class I have ever take at high school.
Self-studying for a lot of AP classes doesn’t do anything. Do it if you want some credit in college, but Psych, Stats, and APES might be harder to get credit for at more selective universities.
If you prefer more nonfiction and dissecting passages for words/purpose, you’ll prefer ap Lang.

I personally am not a fan of english so I dropped out of AP Lang and Comp and took English 3H while taking AP Physics and AP Biology. And essays are a pain. But, if you like English, that would be a good class for you.
