I will be a rising junior next school year and I am iwomdering will it be too much a workload. Do you think I will have too much stress and will I pass AP exams next year if I take all three at once? Additionally I am very good at general chemistry and Ave an A and pretty good in precalc with like a high C. So will you guys think I get good or bad grades in any of the classes? Also I am taking an engineering class (dual enrollment) as well that year wiich involves lots of math. So what do you guys think should I go for it and take all three or only take AP chem and AP Calc AB or AP Physics 1 and AP Calc AB? Also I am definitely taking AP Calc AB next year no matter what. Sorry for the long post but please serious answers. I really appreciate you guys who have the time to read this and actually be serious. Thanks! Also the advice?
Sorry to break it to ya, but a “high C” in precalc is not very good. You’re the best judge of your own capabilities, but if you’re having trouble making an A in pre-calc, then maybe hold off on AP Physics. AP Physics is calc-based, and if Calc AB is unavoidable, the least you can do to minimize the damage would be to hold off on AP Physics.
If you do think you can attain mastery of pre-calc concepts before the next semester, by all means go ahead and try all three. It certainly isn’t impossible to do well in all of them.
AP Physics 1 is algebra-based. No calculus required.
That said, I agree that a high C in precalc implies that the math in physics may be rough.
No, don’t take 2 AP sciences at once. THey usually have labs so take up more than one period.
Probably you should take AP Physics 1 or Honors Physics this year and then take AP Chem next year.
Also talk to your math teacher to see if you should take Calc, Honor Calc or AP Calc AB.
Thanks guys but I ended up not taking any AP math or science because I did awful in precalc second semester but I’m taking honors this year and maybe an AP or two next year. I appreciate the help
