Hello, I know it’s early, but I want to know what classes I should take ahead of time.
I’m planning on going to a UC school, preferably UC Berkeley, UCLA, or UCSD for Engineering. I know UC’s really look at your 10th and 11th grade GPA, so I was wondering if it would be better to take AP Physics my senior year in case I get something like a C.
Apparently the AP Physics class at my school is terribly hard and only one person this year has an A in the class. I have the same teacher for Chemistry this year and he is really bad at explaining things. He also takes forever to grade our tests, which is really annoying.
If I don’t take AP Physics next year, I was planning on taking AP Environmental Science, which I know is an easy AP class. Do the colleges focus more on how hard the classes you take are, or your GPA? I also don’t want to overwhelm myself next year since it’s so important.
Which schedule for next year would be better?
Option 1: AP Calc AB, AP English Lang, AP Physics 1, AP Statistics, US History, Chinese III, Robotics
Option 2: AP Calc AB, AP English Lang, AP Environmental, AP Statistics, AP USH, Chinese III, Robotics
I figured if I’m to take AP Physics, I won’t take APUSH since it would probably be too much. I’m not exactly sure what to take though. I feel like I would most likely have a higher GPA with option 2. Would saving AP Physics for senior year be a good choice? The only thing is that my school will possibly offer AP Physics 2 when I’m a senior.
Please let me know what I should do, thank you!
