I’m in my junior year and I’m currently in AP Chemistry, and suffering. I don’t even know what my grade is because I don’t look at it at all; all I know is that it’s bad. I’ve carried on with the class and am currently relying on the extra credit, and possibly getting a 4 or 5 on the AP test this Monday. This Monday. Lol.
I know I’m struggling in Chemistry since I haven’t put extra effort into trying to learn it, but I know that I really can’t seem to put concepts together and garner scientific reasoning.
I have decided that I will attend community college, then transfer into UCLA, at least I plan to. Since my high school GPA sort of won’t matter (I think) if I will be transferring from a college, is it ok if I get a bad grade in AP Physics? Like get a C- in the class, and a 3 on the AP test?
Will that hurt any of my chances to be admitted to UCLA?
And will UCLA even accept college credit for science courses if the intended major will (I think) require these courses to be taken again anyway?
I want to take these classes even though I’m struggling with Chemistry, and I might do worse since Physics is considered the most difficult AP class offered on our campus because I want to major in Physical Therapy/pursue some career in the medical field, and since I’m probably going to come across the same material in college courses, I want to have seen it already and know some of it.
