I am currently a high school freshman, and I have ideas on possible majors, including computer science. I am in Algebra 1 right now and it makes sense and I understand what’s being taught really well. I am taking semester 1 of Geometry this summer and will be taking Algebra 2 Honors along with AP Computer Science A sophomore year. My question is: Should I take AP Statistics before taking AP Computer Science A, and will I be able to understand the material with only a year Algebra 1 and a semester of Geometry while concurrently taking Algebra 2 Honors. Should I take AP CPA then AP Stats?
Yeah, I recommend doing AP Computer Science A first. This is because AP Computer Science A has Algebra 2 as a co-requisite. AP Statistics, however, assumes you have completed Algebra 2. I recommend saving AP Stats for sophomore, junior, or senior year, and doing AP Comp Sci A right now instead because of this.
Have a good day!
