I am a Pre-med Bio major, and I was wondering if it would be worth taking Calc 2 and/or Calc 3. Do med schools like that or do they just not care? I am sure that I can get an A in the classes, but I would rather avoid the extra math if I can.

Only about 5 med schools/programs require additional calc beyond Calc 1. (Harvard’s HST, for example, requires math thru linear equations.) Please consult MSAR for specific program requirements.

You do need, however, a semester of statistics or, even better, biostatistics.

So take calc if you like math and find it interesting and/or useful for your career plans, but don’t take just because you’re hoping to impress an med school admission officer. They won’t be impressed.
