Should I take certain AP tests?

I'm a high school senior, and I'll be taking more AP exams in May. My current plan involves taking 8 exams. However, since I'm almost certain I'll be applying to medical school, I was wondering whether I should opt out of taking the AP Chemistry exam, and instead take the course in college (to fulfill AAMC requirement). I realize now that I probably shouldn't have even taken the AP Biology exam last year, since I'll take the course in college anyways. However, if I can save a little extra money by not taking the AP Chemistry exam, it would be nice because:

1) I can spend extra time studying for the other exams
2) The test format is changing this year, so it may have a more difficult curve, making it tougher to earn a high score

Can I get some opinions as to whether I should take the test or not?

Most med schools will accept advanced college courses in the subject to validate the AP scores. Since gen chem is a prereq to Org, you should be covered. I’d say take the test.

I think taking 8 AP exams is going to be tough. I think narrowing it down to 5 would be a good idea as it would allow you to focus more and get better scores. However, I am not sure about the idea of skipping the chem one; I think studying for the AP exam would provide a great foundation for future chem classes.
