should i take chemistry?

ok since i plan to major in a science or an engineering major, the answer is that i should take ap chem esp. considering that i haven't any sort of chemistry yet

however i have some screwy schedule issues next year, so it's gonna be hard to fit the class in, since it's only offered one or two periods; basically, i have to take four one semester classes...one is going to be offered one period only

with one exception, i have to take those classes next year

so my question is: will it be particularly bad to not take a chemistry course if im applying to an engineering college? i will be a senior this coming fall

Why haven’t you taken chemistry yet? Just out of curiosity.

What sciences HAVE you taken?

You probably should. Chem is like a course that’s taken by almost every high schoolers. It’s like one of those general classes you take in HS like health. And also, you said you might major in science. Most science majors require chem.

Who do you know that got into college didn’t take chem? >_<

yes ? everyone has to take chem at our school… i think. I took bio->chem->anatomy

My school allows to take either Chemistry or Physics to fulfill the third year requirement.

I’m taking it this year. I’ve got 52 days left to complete two years’ worth of chemistry… This should be interesting.

A lot of people from my school go to college without Physics (given, they’re definitely NOT going into Engineering or Sciences). They would take something like Bio - Physical Science (sort of a general Science) - Chem/AP Chem - AP Bio.

Oh, and yes, AP Chem without general Chem is fine. I did that, and so did everyone who took AP chem at my school.

yes, but most colleges require some form of Biology/Chem/Physics

if you dont take chem, you may be able to graduate hs, but since a lot of colleges require it you might get rejected from university

^UC’s and CSU’s don’t require it

looking at some other colleges’ requirements though, i’ll probably try to stick chem in their somewhere
