kinda confused on my schedule. Sorry if this question been asked before.

So far I got Spanish, English 101, Search (required for my school), and maybe Bio. for fall semester.

Dunno If my sched. is great for pre-med level but anyways (suggestions appreciated).. I have no idea about my major too.

Some ppl tell I should take Gen. Chem first with Chem/Bio 2nd semester maybe. Then go with Organic...

But an advisor told me I should take Bio first since I am more interested in it than Chem.

What should I do or change..

Thxs for any advice

Most pre-meds take Bio I and Chem I their first semester and take Bio II and Chem II their second semester. At least at my school thats how it works...

Do whatever is normal at your school.
At mine, it works the same way Biyanka described.

If you can only choose one, I'd say take Chem simply b/c that's a longer "sequence" than the necessary bio courses.

Not all schools is it common for freshman to get chem and bio completely out of the way. At my school most people took the full year of chem, and a semester of bio, either spring or fall.

Does your school have a pre med advising section on their website? At my Ds school they actually have an advising sheet that lists the order they recommend taking the pre req classes so that you fit them all in by the time you are applying for med or vet school. For her school the premed/prevet schedule recommended both chem and bio first semester. There is probably a pre med advisor at your school that you should talk to in addition to your regular advisor.

UcMich, e-mail Dr. Jaslow. He is the Pre-Med guru at Rhodes. He'll answer your questions. My D is a Rhodes soph and she took Search, Bio 1, Chem 1, Eng 151 and then second semester took Search, Bio 2, Chem 2, and Spanish 2 . I do believe that a schedule like that gets you off to a good start. Get excited. Orientation is two weeks away!
