Should I take SAT subject tests? And chance of getting into UCD?

I know the website says that it’s not recommended for any majors, but I’ve been hearing conflicting things from different people. I’ve been hearing that although it’s not recommended, it’s still very important to get good SAT subject test scores. These are my stats so far:

Weighted GPA: 4.3
Unweighted GPA: 3.97
SAT score: 1270
SAT Subject Bio: 600
SAT Subject Math II: 690
Extracurricular: (President) Science Olympiad, (Vice President) National Honor Society, CSF, two years of track, and Key Club

I was thinking about majoring in biochemistry and the career I am thinking about is pediatric dentistry.

I’m still waiting for my SAT score from August, however, I’m not sure how I did. I was thinking to retake the test before my UC applications are due but because of all the confusion from various of people, I’m not sure what is best to do.

Should I retake my SAT again or should I retake the SAT subject test?

From UCD website::::::::::

SAT Subject Tests are not required and UC Davis will consider submitted SAT Subject Test scores only if they benefit the applicant.

You have a competitive GPA and test scores are within range. You stand a good chance at an acceptance. Bumping up your SAT scores could definitely help.

Best of luck
