Hey guys, in need of some serious help here; so my schedule for senior year is AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Chem, AP French, AP Calculus AB, Honors Economics. The second semester is the same except with CP Government instead of Honors Econ. (Basically 5APs, 1 honors/CP)
Anyway, to the point. I've found AP Chem very hard, and I'm struggling in the class quite considerably. And yes, I've honestly tried working harder, but it still seems very foreign. So I've dropped the class (don't worry, I haven't submitted any college apps yet, so it's not going to show on the transcript). Instead I've a choice of doing Teacher Aid or CP Chemistry. Essentially, I have taken Chemistry before in 9th and 10th grade before I changed schools (Bio, Physics, and Chem were taught in one year, but is under the category of 'Science' on my transcript), but the material taught before was completely different from what is being taught now in my current school. So from a college admissions standpoint, which would 'look better'? CP Chem or Teacher's Aid? This way, I'll have 4 APs, 1 honors, 1 CP for the first semester and 4APS and 2CPs the second semester. I was afraid that with the drop of AP Chem, my senior year schedule won't be as rigorous--something that UCs and other colleges highly recommend.
Any help would be awesome!

Another thing, I’ve fulfilled the a-g requirements, and all the credits needed to graduate. So that’s not much of a concern.

Some colleges using holistic admissions reading may prefer to see all of biology, chemistry, and physics in your high school course selection, particularly if you are interested in a major in any of these three (high school chemistry is often the assumed background for chemistry in college, which is required for biology and chemistry majors and is at least recommended for physics majors).

^Well, I wouldn’t be able to enter it that way on the high school course selection as we got one final grade per year under ‘Science’. But, I’m sure they will know that Bio, Physics and Chem are generalized under ‘Science’. However, these courses weren’t named ‘CP’ as such. They were just named Biology, Chemistry, etc. (Attended 9th and 10th grade in India)
Hm, that’s interesting. As of now I’m leaning towards CP Chemistry.

CP Chemistry. Without question.

CP Chemistry, absolutely.
Anyway, UCs have a cap on the number of APs and Honors you can count in your UC GPA.

Thanks for your advice! I know they have a cap, but don’t they still want to see a rigorous schedule nonetheless?

Yes; They want to see a total of 8 of them over your 4 years for the cap, with 4 APs (8 max) and as many Honors as possible.

The UC admissions readers can see your course selection, so choosing more rigorous options when available and doing well in them should be helpful.
