Honestly, I just took the January SAT as my first time. I felt like I didn't do so good after the test though, anyways, an issue has been bothering me. Should I take the ACT or the SAT, and if so which is better or is just the SAT or the ACT enough?

Can you find a practice test book for the ACT at school or at the library? My daughter did much better on the ACT than the SAT. I've heard it said that the questions on the ACT are presented more clearly. However, speed is an issue. If you can work quickly and accurately, give it a try.

How much time do you have? If you are pressed for time, you might do better just sticking to the SATs. However, if you have the time, try experimenting with the ACT and see how well you score. If it turns out easier for you than the SATs, go right ahead and prepare for that. If you feel more comfortable with the SATs even after that point, take that instead.

For the ACT:
English:75 questions within 45 minutes
Math:60 questions within 60 minutes
Reading:40 questions within 35 minutes
Science:40 questions within 35 minutes
Optional Writing within 30 minutes.

Personally, I work pretty fast so time is not an issue but my score on the ACT is superior to my SAT scores.

my SAT:1490
my ACT:24 equiv to 1700 SAT or so.
