Should I take the ACT this year?

I'm a rising sophomore and wondering if I should take the ACT this school year. Is it much harder than the PLAN? I scored well on that test. I think taking the ACT now would decrease stress junior year and I could familiarize myself with the test now.

Are there any significant disadvantages? I'm concerned with math, however, because I'll only be in Algebra II this year. I've already taken Honors Geometry.

I will definitely take the SAT, but in my junior year. I live in an ACT state, so I'm expected to take this as well at some point. Any input?

Try taking a practice test from the Red Book. If that score is close to what you’re aiming for the first time then you should take the ACT around the end of sophomore year.
You always have junior year too.

Are there any good ACT practice exams online I can use to test my readiness?

There are some pdf files containing tests made by the act. I believe there are 3 of them.
Try looking on Google.

Okay, thanks :)

Yes. Take the ACT as a sophomore. Not only does it give you good practice, but you will get a fall back score as well.
