Hi all!
I am a 9th grader in High School and looking to attend semi-competitive colleges. The “highest” level math class that my school offers is AB Calculus. Since my Junior/Senior year will probably be overload with AP exams, I was thinking of spreading them out. I was thinking of self-studying and taking the AB Calculus AB exam my Sophmore year and then taking AP Statistics on my Senior year. However, I was wondering if I would actually be better to take the Calculus class itself in 12th grade.
if you take Calculus AB sophomore year are you taking BC junior year? You may have accidently left out your junior year.
What math course are you in now? How good are you at math?
I would recommend not having a gap in your math classes junior year. I would take math each year in a progression. I would not recommend self study on calc for almost any students but you might be in that tiny percent who can do it and who it would work well doing. But with most it is not a good idea.
Yes, the important information you left out would be the answers to the questions in reply #2.
