Should I take the AP Chemistry exam if I plan on retaking it again in college??

Hello, I am a junior this year and taking 4 AP Classes. This year, I am for sure taking the other 3 AP exams, but I am still deciding whether I should take the AP Chemistry exam. I plan on majoring in a science field, so I plan on retaking Chemistry again in college. The reason I decided to take AP Chemistry so I could familiarize myself with the material I will see again in college. If I do decide to take the AP Chem exam, I will find myself studying for all 4 AP classes in addition to the SAT which I plan on taking in March. If I don't take the AP Chem exam, I already plan on taking the SAT Chemistry Subject Test if that helps.
I plan to apply into a UC school, and I read that they recommend you take the AP exams, but I don't see the point of taking the AP Chemistry exam if I plan on retaking chemistry in college. I thought the point of the AP exam was for college credit. I understand that low AP scores do not hurt your admission, but does not taking the test at all have a negative effect on admission? Do UC colleges look down on the fact that I did not take the AP exam? Should I take the AP Chemistry exam if I plan on retaking the class again in college? Please help

Thanks
Nathaniel

You can take the AP Chemistry exam to place into a higher level chemistry course in college (for example, in the college I go to there’s an honors chemistry sequence in addition to the normal general chemistry sequence that you can get into if you get a 4 or a 5).

Thank you for your response. I’m leaning more towards not taking it since I really don’t want to skip Chemistry in college. Hopefully this doesn’t affect admissions.
