I am currently enrolled in APUSH at my senior year of high school and am doing well in that class. I can take the AP exam and do well if i work hard enough. But since I want to do pre-med in college I was wondering if I needed to take the AP exam at all? I don't want to waste the AP application fee or the manhours if I do not need to AP out of history in college.

You’ll still have to take a history class for your general education, despite the major or program you’re in. So it’s a good idea to take the test anyway, especially since you’re studying hard for it, so that you may be able to use those history credits on that GE class. The idea for AP exams is not only for the knowledge but also to use the potential credits for the classes that you would rather not take in college(if you score well and the college allows it of course).
