I am currently a junior attending a high school for engineering and science, and I am enrolled in the AP Physics C Mechanics class this year. I have all "A"s in every marking period in physics this year, except for this marking period, in which I have a 79 due to the lack of grades put in because of the whole coronavirus mess.
I am not a big fan of physics, and I often struggle in physics, and I do not plan on majoring in anything relating to physics; I plan to major in Economics. I took my first practice test for AP Physics C Mechanics, and it did not go great.
Should I bother taking the AP exam in May, or should I cancel it?
Also, to specify the “did not go great” part, I used the first practice test given in the 2020 edition Princeton Review book and found the questions to be difficult to answer.
Try the free response questions on the college board website. I don’t know about Physics specifically, but at least for Psychology, there’s a lot of previous FRQs published. As you might already know, because of this whole coronavirus mess, the college board is only having a 45 minute FRQ test, so if the main reason behind you not doing well on the practice tests was the multiple choice, you might still be able to get a good score on the exam. Also, wait until we get more information on how the test is going to be held. After that, if you’re still not sure you can do well on the test, it’s probably best to cancel the test, since it’s probably going to be more harm than good if you get a bad score on the test.
