Should I take the November or December SAT?

I am a senior in highschool right now and I can't really decide which one to take. I am aiming for about 2250+. I got a 2140 last time i took it in May, but now my score is down to about a 1950(I took a practice test about a week ago). I am not sure if one month is sufficient time to prepare but at the same time I don't want to wait too long to take the SAT. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

November too may be late. But its your real last shot. Don’t stress about practice tests. Just get the problems right now.

November would be fine. December is pointless (unless you apply for college next year :stuck_out_tongue: )

I think a lot of colleges accept December, though he’d have to check individually.

mryyyy - This is really a question only you can answer; my take on it (I have a similar score and I’m retaking November, haven’t studied for it since summer) is that it’s just better to focus on that now and then get it out of the way. Concurrently dealing with the SAT and college application essays is just not fun. On the plus side, especially if you’re done with those essays, taking the SAT in December would give you Thanksgiving break to study (unless your teachers end up giving you tons of homework).
I would take another practice test before the deadline to register for the Nov. test to identify why your score dropped–did you grow out of being used to the time limits, or was either the 2140 or 1950 a fluke (and we can’t tell that for you)?
