Hi everyone! The title of this discussion is self explanatory, if I’m not pleased with or want to possibly increase my standardized testing scores should I retake them after the regular decision deadline (Jan 1.)? I would only like to retake them under the premise that if I were to get a higher score, colleges would be updated with that new information thus increasing the chances of me getting into the colleges that I applied to. I don’t want to throw away money and go through taking a standardized test for nothing. Thank you!
What is your current score and which colleges are you applying to?
You have to check for the last test date accepted by the colleges to which you wil be applying. For many, the Dec test is the last considered for admission while for many others the Jan SAT test is accepted, although for that one you may need to send the score before knowing what it is by designating the college in your test registration as one to automatically receive scores upon release (that is the fastest form of delivery). There are then a smaller number of colleges that even accept the Feb ACT for admission
