Hello, I hope you can help! I’m registered for the SAT coming up a week from tomorrow, but I have a dilemma. I just got my ACT scores back, and I got a 35C (36, 35, 34, 33). Should I take the SAT and hope I get a good score to supplement that ACT? But the problem is, what if I don’t do so well and then I have to report all scores to some colleges (both ACT and SAT)… If it’s any help I got a 1490 PSAT in October and I’m a Questbridge student aiming for HYPS. Thanks!
Yes you should but i’m pretty sure you aren’t required to send both sat and act scores to schools, including HYP, so if you don’t do so well, just don’t include it.
@premednyy thank you for commenting! I’m going to cram now haha.
You have a good chance to qualify for national merit with that PSAT score, depending on what state you are in. So I would take the SAT because you will need a qualifying score to advance.
Yes. As mentioned above, you stand a very good chance of advancing via the National Merit program, so I would personally urge you to accept the challenge of replicating your 99th percentile ACT score/rank with an equally impressive SAT score. And if you are also ranked in the top 5% of your graduating class, I predict that you will do very well in terms of your college acceptance goals. I rank them differently though… SPYH. Good luck…
