Should I take the World History SAT II?

Hi,

I have taken a year of World Culture (sophomore) without honors or AP because my school didn't have those advance classes last year.
Right now (junior year), I'm taking a World History I class on a Penn State campus.

I'm thinking of taking World History for one of my SAT II in June since I'm in a college course for that... but I'm worried because I didn't take World History II though I did took a full course of World Culture..

Do you think it is okay or it is a good thing for me to take it (in June)?
What prep book(s) would you recommend for me to buy (besides my textbook because I will review it)?

Thanks!! :)

I took a world history honors course in 9th grade, and then decided to self-study AP World during sophomore year using my world history stuff (this is deceiving, since I basically just looked at some cram packets instead of actual ‘study’).

As long as you’re reading though, I think the June exam date is easily feasible. I would advise using any books you can get your hands on and taking any practice exam you can get. It’s not a practice based exam like Math I/II or Literature for say, but the style of questions are somewhat different from the more analytics of AP stuff.

Trust me though, as long as you have a decent general knowledge sense, the test should be fine, especially with like a -20 for 800 curve.

I got a 4 and 760 on the AP exam and SAT II, respectively (with minimum study). Trust me, it’s doable.

I think if you’re doing well in the Penn State class, you should give it a try.

I didn’t really study it aside from taking the 2 official practice tests the week before (I did take AP World though). [Find it here](http://www.amazon.com/Official-Subject-Tests-World-History/dp/0874477697)
The practice tests might be easier than the real thing though. I finished the AP World multiple choice and the practice tests in less than 30 minutes, but on the real exam it took me a full hour to finish it.
