I was waitlisted at Mount Holyoke and rejected pretty much everywhere else. I took the waitlist spot and everything, kept in touch with them. They emailed me yesterday saying I should pay a deposit somewhere else to have a secure spot in the fall, and if I still want to be on the waitlist, to let them know.

Now, of course I still want to be considered. I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to be like "I did not receive an acceptance anywhere, so there is no deposit to pay, so I'm eagerly waiting for waitlist decisions to be available".

Lots of gratitude coming your way for any help!

Obviously, they emailed you that information to inform you that an offer is not likely to come from them. I would NOT tell them you’ve not been accepted elsewhere – that only would confirm the fact that they should also reject you (which they likely may to anyway).

What you now must do is look at your realistic options which I suspect do not include US colleges. Best of luck to you.

No I didn’t get any acceptances haha, I thought I said that.

And yeah, that’s what I thought. They emailed me because I emailed them first, restating my intention to attend (like they advised) , and they said they currently don’t have any updates. I’m not high on hopes, though, I’m already a med student over here

Being a low income Intl applicants means you’re looking for pretty much full support, so that means these top schools you applied to have to really want you, which means you need to be an incredibly compelling candidate.

Hopefully you have options in Romania that you can attend as you look like a fine student.

Thank you! It definitely is! And, I hope I will, really, I’m waiting on my FA information. Very low income family, so fingers crossed for full need
