Should I transfer high schools mid junior year??

I live in the middle of Silicon Valley where housing is ridiculously expensive. My family and l are living in a pretty old one family house and we pay 4500 dollars a month for it. We’ve just been told by the landlord that he was going to raise rent again so we were considering moving to a cheaper area. We can’t find a decent place under our budget in the same school district district, but we did find several nice listings outside the school district but still in the Bay Area. I wouldn’t mind moving and I would like to do the best thing for my family, but I’m still worried about college apps and making friends. Would it be a problem academically? The high school I currently go to is one of the best in the state and is very academically rigorous. The high school I’m transferring to is very good too, but its academic level is still lower than my current school. Also, I kinda feel like it’s too late for me to make friends if I transfer mid junior year because everyone will have known each other for a long time and have their own friend groups by now. But since I transferred to my current high school too, I’m not emotionally attatched to it and I don’t feel that sad about leaving though I’ll probably miss my friends. If anyone has had the same experience as me or has advice I would appreciate it very much

Uh, I don’t know if this is late, but actually I do not think it is a good idea. This is mainly because most private colleges require you to explain why you switched schools (and it can be a problem if they do not think your reason justifies it enough). As a senior that just finished the applications, I tell you this with a true heart and pure good intentions. Maybe try requesting a permit to continue in your current school? Besides college app issues, if the new school’s grading system/classes are very different from your old school it can throw off your entire transcript/GPA calculation.
