Should I transfer on my senior year of college?

Hello guys! I am currently a junior majoring in Math and Stats at a university (ranked 300). I would like to major in stats only but the school doesn’t offer it. I wanna work in business analytics field: data analyst, market research, operations research, etc. I still live with my parents because we live fairly close to the school. They decided that they wanna move to another state. So I did research on the university closest to the place they want to move. I found out that they have a really good statistic program that I think would educate me a lot better. I applied and got admitted in the university (ranked 30) for next fall. The trade off is that I would be graduating 1 year later, like instead of graduating within 2 semesters at my current school, I would be graduating within 4 semesters at my new school. Financially, it would cost about the same cause my the extra year of tuition will equal to my rent/dorm if I ever stay and went ahead and finish. Do you think I should stay and finish get my bachelors already, or should I transfer to a better school and get better education but stay another year? Thanks!

This really is your call.

When you compare the specific course requirements for the Math and Stats and the Stats only majors, how different are they? How many of those differences can you make up by taking some Stats electives or independent studies where you are now? What help can you get from your current department and career office in finding internships and jobs?

When is your family moving? Is your admission for the spring term of 2018 or is it for the fall? Could you start in January instead of fall? That would change your situtation from 1 year vs 2 to 1 1/2 vs 2.

Your costs aren’t just for tuition/fees/housing/books/meals, they also include the lost income from starting your career a year (or semester) sooner.
