Hello,
I currently attend an institution not far from GWU and am thinking of transferring to GWU. I am majoring in exercise science and quite frankly am not very pleased with the quality of the major at my current institution.

I was looking through the GWU website and reading over the exercise science major and have to say that I am impressed with what they have to offer. I also like the fact that they have an exercise science concentration in pre-health studies. My ultimate career goal is to become a physician.

The question is: For the price, $40k/year, is it worth transferring to GWU? The institution that I attend now is up and coming but it doesn't compare in terms of being a "name" school like GWU (nor, as I previously mentioned, is the exercise science major as thorough). I also haven't looked much into the tuition, so I'm not sure if I can pay on a credit-by-credit basis or if it is a flat-semester (year?) fee. I work full-time, 40-50 hrs/week, (in healthcare) so I can only take 2-3 (maybe 4) classes per semester (provided that the classes are at night).

I also feel that perhaps by attending GWU it would (slightly) help my chances of getting accepted into medical school. At my current institution I have a ~3.8 major GPA, and a ~3.4 cum GPA. Unfortunately I did not do well in community college <3.0 GPA, with repeated course work, but am hoping that my improved grades will help.

I think I am interested in doing this more so because of the stronger major program, first, and the 'name' as a very close second.

Thanks for reading and for your input!
