I am currently a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill, and I deciding whether or not I want to transfer to NCSU. Coming out of high school, I was accepted into both colleges, but I chose to go to UNC without really considering State because of UNC’s journalism program. Since then, I have decided that I no longer want to do journalism, and I have changed my major to statistics.
Now that I’m 1.5 years into my education at UNC, I have come to the realization that I do not like the school. The statistics program is very small, I do not like the town of Chapel Hill, and I get very homesick even though Chapel Hill is only 30-45 minutes away from my hometown (Raleigh).
I was wondering if anyone could give me insight on what the statistics program is like at State and what campus life is like in general. Also, if anyone has transferred from UNC to State and could share about their experience, that would be great.
As of right now, I think it would make a lot of sense for me to transfer to NC State, but I have concerns about whether or not the grass just looks greener on the other side.
