transfer to UNC or NC STATE?

I'm currently a freshman at Virginia Tech. I'm changing majors, so i'm transferring to an in-state school to save money (I live in North Carolina). If going to UNC, I'd hope to double major in English and Journalism. If NCSU, I'd major in English and minor in Journalism (seeing as they don't offer journalism as a major). NC State also seems to have more opportunities and more focused concentrations/routes within the English major. I understand that UNC is a better school, (especially since it is liberal arts based and specifically known for its journalism and creative writing programs) but that may not be worth it. All of my credits will transfer over to NC State, and more of my major classes for state i can take at my community college. Less than half of my first year credits will transfer to UNC and there are less that I will be able to take at community college to help catch up.
I really like both of the campus's and the atmospheres, but I don't know which would be the better choice. UNC will definitely require a year or more extra than NC State. (side information that I think is important- i love art and music, galleries and shows, anything of the sort. I will definitely be getting involved in a campus ministry) any insight?

English and Journalism? UNC is rated much higher in both, has a national reputation and Chapel Hill has lots to do. NC State doesn’t compare even if it takes longer to graduate from UNC. Take summer classes and you’ll graduate in 4 yrs.

Really, UNC as alexthedog said is a much better school in journalism. I live in the area and if you like music, shows and artsy things in general, NC State has the upper end. State much more urban, and you can get around without a car easily, where as at UNC you need to have a car to be able to attend anything interesting. Chapel Hill, however, does have a GORGEOUS campus.

Overall I would say UNC is the better choice in the long run. Nobody would be impressed by an English/Journalism at State, especially since they don’t know you were smart enough to get into UNC’s.
