Should I transfer to SJSU or UCSB

I received my AA in December and am transferring this fall. I couldn't decide between SJSU (cheaper, close to home, but the Anthropology program isn't great) or UCSB (much better Anthropology program, on the beach, but more money) so I told both schools I'd be attending to give myself more time to choose. But now UCSB needs my housing contract in by 4pm on Saturday and I need to decide. I really want to go to UCSB, but I'll go into less debt if I go to SJSU. This is important because I want to go to grad school. So the less debt before grad school the better, right? Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

SJSU sounds like the right call for you. See if you can get out with zero debt.

SJSU

i would go to UCSB just for the social life you get a such a good university. you will love it, i haven’t met a student there who would rather go somewhere else.

You are right to think about the importance of saving money for grad school, particularly if money is an issue. If money is tight, choose San Jose. You’ll be glad later when you don’t have the pressure of paying off those loans.

I notice that the adults, who understand budgeting and loans, have the longer-term perspective.

SJSU - the less debt the better.
