Should I transfer to Texas A&M?

<p>I am a mechanical engineering student at the University of Houston with 58 hours, 3.1 overall gpa and 2.6 major gpa. My lowest grade was a C- in an engineering course. As far as my other credentials go, I got a ~1700 on my SAT (it's been a while) and I've filed for a patent a year ago and I'm filing for another one this year. I'm not the best when it comes to school work and my work ethic is pretty low in that area, UH is already giving me trouble in my coursework and I probably studied 5 hours the whole time I was in high school and got through with a 3.6. Would I get into A&M as a transfer student? And, would I make it if I do get in?</p>
