Should I transfer?

I'm a freshman studying Mechanical Engineering at George Washington University and I was originally very excited about living in Washington, DC. Inauguration weekend was amazing and I was also content with GW because I pretty much have a full ride here. However I don't know if I should stay. My classes don't seem to be too difficult but that might be because it's still my freshman year. I really enjoy DC and GW but should I look for a better school (I'm looking into Gtech)?

If you are pretty much satisfied why would you risk that for another school that might not be as enjoyable? Just something to think about...

GW is a decent university, you like DC (so far), and "I pretty much have a full ride here."

What, exactly, do you think you'd get at GTech that you can't get at GW? What would you give up? How much of this is just being a bit home-sick in the grey depths of the DC winter?

You shouldn't transfer unless you have very compelling, clear objectives that you cannot achieve at your current school.
