Is it true that the common app is a faster way of submitting college applications without adding any stress? I heard it only takes a couple of days compared to the college apps that are posted on the colleges website! Are there any pros and cons of submitting the common app and what if the schools I'm applying to dont accept it, what do I do then?

If the Common App is supported, you should absolutely use it. It is easier for you. And probably more automated than what is on the website, so easier for the college as well. Many, many colleges are on the Common App these days, and it is their preferred method of getting an application. (Don’t listen to your parents or grandparents if they say a paper app is somehow better, it is NOT. Colleges HATE paper apps if they also have the Common App available because it is so much less work for them to take the Common App). The Common App is not only more convenient for you and the colleges. It is also easier for your high school. They can upload recommendation letters, transcripts, etc. if they have that capability set up. You can use the same recommendations across schools (teacher write them generically), and no one has to mail them to evey school! Of course, if your high school does not upload to the Common App for some reason, your letters and transcripts can still be sent via snail mail.

If you apply to a college that does not accept the Common App, then you need to fill out the application specific to that college instead. Their website will tell you what to do.

Ok thank you!!

intparent said it all very well. You should use the common app whenever possible.

If this is the first year a college uses the common app, and they also have their own, ask around about any known glitches before deciding.

Definitely use the Common App. It is so much easier! A lot of colleges now accept only the Common App now anyway. And your teachers will be very grateful!
