Should I watch The Dark Knight Rises?

Is it possible to enjoy TDKR without having watched the first 2 movies? Or shoudl I watch the first 2 first?

You haven’t watched the first two? *** are you doing with your life?

But no. Go watch them first. Nolan has really intertwined the stories.

Batman Begins was on FX last night, so I managed to catch (most of) that, and I had also seen it when it first came out but forgot most of it… which means that I’ve got 4 days to run to blockbuster and grab TDK. :D

People still use blockbuster? Blockbuster still exists? I thought Netflix and Redbox had pretty much taken over.

Nah, there’s one that’s about a five minute bike ride from my house. And yeah, I’m just as surprised as you are that it’s still in operation, haha.

I mean I have the first 2 movies. Would it take a long time (like 6 hours) to watch them though?

I didn’t see the first two and just saw the dark knight and I loved it/was totally fine with the storyline. I may have missed a couple of the more subtle points but, basically, once you know batman is good and everyone whom he fights is bad, you’re good to go

You don’t really need to watch the first two. Batman Begins was just okay, not really worth watching, but The Dark Knight is fantastic and you should absolutely (want to) watch it.

Bro, you have the movies, just watch them. You can see how long they both are on the movie case. I don’t get what the problem is here.

Hi guys, My final decision is to watch the first 2 movies before going to the theatres to watch TDKR.

I want to thank all of you for your valued and insightful suggestions while I struggled to make a very crucial decision.

^CC in a nutshell.

Good choice. The more batman the betterz

I hate batman

Just watch all the movies as this movie really concludes the two others. Some parts of it would not be understand without watching the first two. The other two could be watched separately, but this one needs the others (I actually watched Batman Begins after the Dark Knight) Plus all them are great in one way or another. Have fun!

I honestly thought it was bad and pretty boring.

I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around that concept. Yes, the movie has its flaws; but boring? I can only see it as “boring” if you have no emotional investment in the characters and you don’t understand the first part (albeit murky) of the movie.
