Should I?

Hello, I am considering transferring to UPenn as a rising Junior, and I am currently attending a Community College. I was wondering if I should take SAT II Subject Tests and whether that would increase my chances of being admitted to University since I already am in college?

Thanks!

@IvyLeague2, I think no one is posting because we can’t know. I guess I’d say it couldn’t hurt, particularly if you took the Subject Test in Math II and English. Be sure your SAT score is high, too.

Also, check the threads for those who want to transfer.

For the transfer, they’re looking at your community college grades of course, but also your essays, letters of recommendation, your experiences (eg jobs, internships, volunteer work etc) and a compelling reason why you want to transfer to Penn–specifically Penn. Also, you may want to cover why you went to community college to begin with, as opposed to a 4 year college. For instance, if you went because of finances, say so.

Good luck.

@IvyLeague2 the fact that you are applying from community college as opposed to a 4-year college will put you at a disadvantage so you need to have near perfect grades and SAT scores.

If unsure contact the admissions office and ask.

I mean it’s worth a try. Only loss is the application fee.
