Currently I'm a senior and I've recenlty applied to some schools (Penn State, Quinnipiac, UMass Amherst.. etc.) for Biochemistry (Pre-Med). Because I didn't put that much effort to school, my GPA is only a 3.6 with only a 1660 SAT (500CR, 590M, 570W). I retook the SAT a few days ago after prepping over the summer and constantly taking practice tests and I'm confident I broke into the 1900s. Also another note is that I've taken 5 APs, 2 honors, and 4 college classes with multiple clubs, sports, and community service hours. It is my goal to transfer to better schools after completing two years of college (ex. to Boston College, Cornell, Northeastern); obviously I need to get the grades in college. My question is whether taking the SAT Subject tests this May and June would be worth it because I didn't have a plan juinor year. I'm aware that Cornell requires a science and math subject test so I've decided that I would take the Biology E/M and Math Level 2. I just want to know whether I should actually take the tests because I know admissions looks at the HS & College transcripts and standardized test scores I'm just not sure how much weight the subject tests would have for a transfer student.

SAT2 scores may help placement in some schools. Other than that, it may not do anything if you take them after you finished the college application process.

So they wouldn’t consider the SAT2 scores even if I’m still a senior in high school, months away from graduation? Just to make things clear, the only reason why I’m taking these tests is strictly for transferring. Obviously by then I will already have money down on the school to which I’ll be attending and the scores would be useless to them; I figured it couldn’t be too late for once I’m ready to transfer in 1-2 years. Last year in June I saw a senior at my school during the SAT who was already committed to Binghamton and was retaking the exam for transferring.

It really, truly, is OK to email the transfer admissions office and ask if they would use exams taken on those dates when reviewing a transfer application for fall 2015 or fall 2016.
