So for senior year I’m thinking of taking Pre-cal or AP stats.
Here’s my planned schedule:
AP English 4
Economic honors
AP stats or pre-cal
Leadership
Teacher’s assistant
(My intended major is computer science or software engineering and hopefully get into cal poly slo)
I would take Pre-Calc since you will usually need to take Cal 1/2/3 as part of a CS/SE major and you need to have a good basic knowledge of calculus before starting these courses in college. Since you are slightly behind in your Math courses as a possible CS/SE major, you need to get your Pre-Calc out of way so you can begin your calculus series as a Freshman.
I agree with @Gumbymom. As a CS major, you will need to take lots of mathematics classes. Stick with precalculus, because you will need that for your mathematics foundation.
I could take pre-cal senior year and stats in the summer of 2018. Would that work? Im not taking it this summer cause I’m already gonna take a computer science class. Also should I drop teacher’s assistant and add a science class?
After you graduate, you could get a head start on your Math courses by taking a Stats course but make sure that which ever college you plan to attend will accept that credit.
