My S21 is a white guy from the South. He’s mostly looking at public engineering (VT, Wisconsin, NC State) where they don’t seem to care about subject test scores so he was planning to skip them.
We visited Case and he liked it so it’s on the list. They say subject tests are not required – but in reality are they required for a decent chance to be admitted, esp. if you don’t have a hook? (Being from the South might be a small hook…)
He’s currently 4.0 UW with lots of rigor – hasn’t taken ACT yet but hoping for 32-33 based on current prep. Standardized tests are not a natural strength for him and since Case seems to be pretty test score focused I realize it’s a reach. He will have some interesting ECs and very good recs.
Tks for any input!
