Should my son let Princeton know that additional recommendations are being submitted via regular mail (my son has reason to have additional recommendations submitted)? Princeton only allows 2 references (both academic) through the Common Application. Or should he just have them sent in without alerting the admissions office?
If it is best to let them know, what would be the best way to do so, email to the admissions office?
As long as the docs are correctly attributed, the docs will be electronically filed into his e-file. No need to alert anyone – this is standard practice.
Thank you for the reply T26E4. Part of my concern is whether one needs to alert them to additional recommendations due to the fact that they only allow 2 through the Common Application. The impression is that they normally do not want additional recommendations. My son’s situation is a little different, so it seems like the additional recommendations would be helpful and welcome. But should he alert them with an acknowledgment that it is unusual and a reason for why he is submitting them?
