My son took the ssat in December. He did well in reading and verbal but not great in quantitative. When he took the practice tests he did much better in the quantitative section so we know he can do better. Would it be worth it to retake the ssat in January to improve his quantative score? The scores were already sent out to all the schools he is applying to. And will the schools still get his test results in time? Some have January 15th deadlines.
In my experience, schools will take the January tests. My daughter had to re-test in January when she was applying, and we emailed each of the AOs to confirm (this is a nice “excuse” to communicate with your AO ;-)) Every one of them said it was OK.
I second @GMC2918 My kid took the January exam, and even the schools with January 15 app deadlines accepted the score. Kid let AOs know that a second sitting had been taken.
Depends, some schools do. Exeter allowed my February test to be sent in. So, January should be fine. Then again, depends on some schools, like Concord said no
