Is January too late for SSAT retake?

Title sums it up... :-)

My kids took October SSAT, daughter plans to retake, husband wonders if January is too late for that.

During our visits to schools, the DOAs have said that the January SSAT’s were fine and wouldn’t be too late. Would your daughter consider taking the 12/7 test if timing is a concern.

My daughter took it a second time on the January date – whatever the earliest one is. The school was fine with that. You should be fine. The downside is that some studying needs to be done over Christmas break. :-)

Talk about waiting to the last minute, my son took the test for the first and only time on Jan 5 last year. Very high in the verbal, lower in reading, and even lower in math. Did not keep him out of a very selective school so don’t get obsessed about the scores. I believe the teacher and school recommendations weigh more the the ssat score as long as the academic performance is established.

DC also took first and only test on January 5th last year. There were no problems getting the scores to the schools on time.

Thanks all! We have a Dec. conflict. D is glad to have study time during winter break.
