Should someone who is fluent in a language take a SAT II language test?

Is it worth it?

I'm fluent in Spanish but I dropped the class after a semester because I felt like it wasn't worth staying in as a fluent speaker. I took a few SAT II practice tests and got near perfect scores. Should I take the test even though I didn't take the class?

Yes, but it would be advisable to take other Subject Tests to show admissions other strengths.

You definitely should. Go for the 800! But remember that, even with a perfect score, you should still mention somewhere in your application that you are fluent in spanish, as the SAT is obviously way too easy to prove fluency…

near-perfect scores? If you’re fluent, why didn’t you get perfect scores?

^ I hate when people say that-_-

We are all fluent in English why don’t we get perfect scores in anything in English -_-?

If you do take the language SATII, just make sure you have two others…You would have to take 3 SATII’s, which can be a little mentally draining.

hah, exactly Sharon!
Thanks for the input everyone. I plan on taking Spanish, English Literature and Math 1.

amen sharon.
I always get my friends ask me a question about Spanish, and if I don’t know, they say “but I thought you’re Spanish?”
