Should the personal statement for transfer students be specific to schools?

I seem to understand that only one common application is used for all the uni's.

The personal statement basically asks why I want to transfer out.

So should I leave out the destination of where i want to end up? Seems like the obvious thing to do but i just want to confirm

I got that same problem too. What I did might sound kind of tedious, but I put in the name of the school, personalized the essay to that particular school, and under “Signature”, clicked on that school alone to send it only there. Then I did the same for the other schools as well.
I know that sounds tedious but I thought that this personal statement is the main chance i will have to communicate to that school, so why not write it about how well it fits me?

I’m having the same problem…
sambolera, but doesn’t commonapp say that after you send it to one school you can’t make anymore changes? How did you edit your essay after sending it?

You can’t “edit” your essay after sending the app to a school, but you can make alternate versions and change anything you like. Yes, the CA warns about sending different essays to different schools (new this year), so you have to decide for yourself if you’re comfortable doing this or not. I have always recommended in the past to personalize for each school. This is easy if they have a “Why college X?” in their supplement, it takes a little more time to adjust the main CA essay for each.
