Should we be happy with the $5K my son got or is it possible to fight for more?

He’s in the top 10 of his class (not top %10- top 10). He got accepted at BC and some other schools. Does anyone try to fight for more $$ or is it useless?

GPA and SAT/ACT score and EC’S???

I think you should be happy! I’m assuming you are in-state in which case UCONN will be less than 1/2 the cost of BC. My son received the same offer, and will be attending. He didn’t apply to BC, but my daughter did 2 years ago and was accepted, and while she was admitted into the UCONN honors program, they did not offer her any merit money. She also received 0 merit from BC. ( I think they only offer need based). She didn’t chose either school. We were happy with my son’s merit offer because it is off of in-state tuition. He received generous merit offers at most other school but they still would have cost more than UCONN. (He also ended up loving UCONN) Either way It can’t hurt to ask, if that’s what you decide to do. Good luck to you and your son!

Unless you receive the stem scholarship, are OOS, or applied for one of the full scholarships I think the 5kis the best UConn will give you. Just based on my experiences at UConn!

Thanks for the replies. I feel better about it now.
