Should you ever NOT send transcripts for credit earned in HS?

Son is going to the Elliott School in the fall. He has already sent his AP scores: 4s & 5s in Calc AB, Human Geog, Stats, US Govt, Biol & US History. He also sent a junior college transcript for credit for Pre-Calc, taken at the HS for a HS grade. He also dual enrolled at a local university (Bakeru.edu) for US History and Honors Biology. These were also taken in the HS for a HS grade. Should he bother sending these transcripts? GW says they will accept a maximum of 24 hours of credit earned in HS, including APs. Is it overkill to send or worth it just in case? He did get a B in the US History, but I think such credits are transferred as hours and do not go on GPA, correct? Thanks!

Correct- whatever classes transfer will only be accepted as credits but will not be tied to GPA at all. As far as whether or not it’s worth it, I would say that “it can’t hurt” and suggest doing it anyway.

Honestly, I’m surprised to see that it’s optional to submit college transcripts. I could have sworn that it was required to send any and all record of college classes taken. Looking at the Admissions page for GW, however, it looks like it’s optional.

@NHuffer, I thought it was only required for graduate school, but if GW says we don’t have to, he may not. Seems redundant, since he already got the AP credit for that same class. He only dual enrolled in case he didn’t do well on the AP exam.
