Do you need to send a transcript for a college cass taken in high school? I only took one class during my senior year of hs, so is it really necessary to send a transcript from there? i tried transferring those credits over to my current school, but it was apparently either 1) so few and under a special program that the my school doesn't know where exactly the credits are coming from, or 2) the bureaucracy is really messed up and loses my trancripts for no reason. If I do send that transcript to all my schools, tha going to be another really big chunk of change that i need to send score reports, pay app fees, etc. So I reaaaaaally don't want (and kind of can't' financially) to send them unless they're absolutely necessary. thoughts?

yes, you need to send it

uh-oh. that;s not good because i got a B in that class; I was taking 7 ap classes and 3 electives at the same time, so i neglected that class somewhat. would the 3.0 for that one class tarnish my 4.0 college gpa? after all, i took the class in high school and i was just a visiting student. i don’t even want to transfer those 3 credits over to any of the schools i’m applying to.

Does this class show up on your high school transcript? If it does (or even if it doesn’t) you can always call schools and ask if you need to send it.

no it doesnt show up on my hs transcript. i do have an account with that college’s registrar though. and then i’ll have to call like 12 schools >.<

You have to send the transcript to each and every place you are applying to for transfer.

Don’t worry how the grade will affect your “college average”. You took that class when you were in HS!

sigh…another 90 dollars bites the dust…

^^^^ There is a thread in the Financial Aid forum where people post how much money they have spent applying to colleges. I can’t remember the title of the thread or I’d give you the link. It truly is amazing how much money can be spent in this process! Happykid is headed to our local CC for the first two years. No application fee, no ACT/SAT scores, and her first HS transcript is free. I dread what we will face in two years when she is transferring to a 4-year school!
