Should you put humor into the Essay?

<p>I plan on trying to stray away from the cliche and write about my passion for water polo.</p>

<p>I'm planning to try to limit big words and add humor in the application essay, especially in the top notch schools like Stanford where theres a small small chance.</p>

<p>Fellow CCers, what do you think? Also is informal slang appropriate?</p>

<p>If you’re a funny person, than do it, but don’t overdo it. The essay is for you to express to them who you are. If you’re not a funny person, then don’t force it into your essay.</p>

<p>I made a semi-joke about podiatry in my essay. I got in. Draw whatever conclusions you want from that :)</p>
