should your #1 EC have the most hours?

on the activity table, should the EC you list that is most important to you have the most hours? are you at a disadvantage if it doesn't?

No.

Some ECs are time-intensive. For example, club swimmers, serious musicians must spend a lot of time to make acceptable progress. But some other, less time-consuming EC could perfectly well be more important to them.

My son's first listed ec had less hours during the school year than his second (but summers devoted to the 1st) . He actually was equally passionate about them both (medical research and debate, respectively), but he put research first because that is his career goal.

no. my # 1 Ec is my tutoring experience, but that has nowhere near the amount of hours i put into school play productions. plays require the number of hours by nature, where as with 3 tutees, I only have 4-5 hours a week of tutoring.
